Years

 It’s been years since I have blogged.  Let’s see if this works

1/2 Marathon

Today Melissa and I ran the Blue Mt. 1/2 Marathon and had a fantastic time.  Yup, right before the run started, the skies opened up and we were wet but that didn't deter our spirits or any of the others. 

Here we are just hanging around waiting to start.  Well we were going to be running Andrew and John were going cycling.

At the final 1 km mark, we had to go through a tunnel and we were ankle deep in water by the time we were at the other side our ankles and feet were frozen.

We forgot to check the time when we crossed the finish line, but we know we were 2 1/2 hours or just under according to Melissa's watch.  We should receive our finishing time in the mail in a few weeks or so.

John and Andrew had a great time out cycling in the rain and were at the finish line when we arrived, then four of us went for a much needed lunch and Melissa then said "so you wanna do the 30 km in March"?

I have agreed to nothing!

Wrong Calculation

We've been less than patient waiting for Autumn Green to emerge from his chrysalis and last night I checked online again and then realized I calculated incorrectly.  It's approx. 21 days and from when he enters into this stage of his life before he rejoins us as a butterfly and now checking on the calendar that approximate date should be this Wednesday.  We are really hoping for this because John has closed the shop for a weeks vacation and if all goes according to  plan, then he will be here for the release.

Autumn Green

So we estimate Autumn Green should emerge on August 21.  Yesterday I gently took him out of the container and cleaned it out, then slowly put him back in.  It's hard to believe that tiny thread he has himself hanging from supports him.
